Each year's the CENTURIONS of Kendall County host an annual Gala attended by hundreds of people. Every year the gala takes on a different theme and is unquestionably one of Kendall County's most popular charitable events. Staging a party of this size takes a tremendous amount of volunteer time. Each year hundreds of hours go into the construction, food preparation, collection of donations, sponsorships and ticket sales for this gala.
Planning for the February gala begins right after each year's previous gala. The group has become skilled at taking the Boerne Community and Convention Center and transforming the site into a themed extravaganza.
One of the most time-consuming aspects of planning the gala is the solicitation of donations for the silent and live auctions, collecting monetary donations and sponsorships . Obviously, the more items that are donated the more successful the fund raising effort becomes, as the money from ticket sales and activities at the gala may then go directly to the local charities and scholarships.
